Cancellations
If you are unable to keep an appointment, we ask that you kindly provide us with at least 24 hours notice. This courtesy, on your part, will make it possible to give your appointment to another patient.
Optical Services
We offer a full line of the latest styles in eyewear as well as traditional styles. We strive to do our best to assure the finest vision possible with your eyewear as well as comfort. Sylvia, our Certified Optician, is broadly trained in her field and has over 15 years of experience. She thoroughly enjoys making sure each patient is satisfied with their purchase. Walk-ins are always welcome whether for adjustments, repairs or new purchase. Special trips to nursing homes for delivery and adjustments may also be arranged for your added convenience. Stop by and just ask for Sylvia.
Insurance Policies
We are a participating provider for Medicare, MaineCare, BlueCross/BlueShield, Aetna, Cigna, Medical Network, Martins Point, Tricare/Champus, Harvard Pilgrim, United HealthCare, and VSP. We will also bill most commercial insurances for you. HMO patients are required to have the proper referral or referral form on file at our office prior to being seen for medical visits.
Routine eye care is not always a covered service. For example, a refraction, a test done to update a patient’s eyeglass prescription, is never a covered service through Medicare. If in doubt, check with your insurance plan prior to being seen.
We do not participate with insurances that cover optical purchases. If you obtain a claim form from your insurance we can help you fill it out and provide a receipt so that you can be reimbursed directly for your purchase.
Payment Policies
We accept the following forms of payment: cash, personal check, money order, bank check, or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover).
Copays are due at the time of the visit. Your copay is generally printed on your insurance card. If you would like us to bill you later, to defer the administrative cost of billing for the copay, a service fee of $10.00 will be added to your bill. Once we receive an explanation of benefits from your insurance company, the explanation will indicate if any coinsurance or deductible is due. We will indicate this on your bill.
A deposit of at least 50% is due when ordering glasses. The remaining balance is due when you pick up your order.
Allow 3-5 business days when ordering contact lenses. Payment is due in full when picking up contact lens orders.
